I likely cannot help but i suggest you turn on logging and post the debug log for others to review the error details.

It would be easier to give a definitive answer if we knew which version of Sage you're running.

Sage v7.1.9 doesn't need that patch. Consider updating Sage if you're not running 7.1.9 or later.

That patch isn't needed for Sage 9.

As suggested earlier, turn on logging and post the debug log(s) for others to review the error details.

What OS are you running?

I don't understand this stuff enough but my guess would be a missing or not loaded driver for your card. If on windows, did you do a clean v9 install or over v7? Any errors on the install? Have you tried re-running the installer with a repair?

Ok, then does not make sense to me. Hopefully someone who understands the logs better chimes in.

I took a look and it seems to be some basic thing missing from DirectShow or Windows or maybe the driver installation. When it's trying to setup the capture filter one of the connections just simply isn't working.

rats. This was a v9 upgrade over v7, so i dont know how something could be missing. But

ran hwclear and reinstalled all the drivers (colossus, cablecard, and 2250). colossus and cablecard continue to work, 2250 doesnt.

Jeff, do you recall anything special about this card that i need to check the installer for?

JP, another guess... check the registry and search fir the Frey entry and check if its writable by "everyone".

Sorry, I don't, that was Qian's area so I didn't write any of the code that dealt with specifics of different capture devices on Windows.

But he did say he installed V9 over V7...so maybe just uninstalling SageTV altogether and then just installing V9 and see how that goes?

I'm pretty sure there are others out there using 2250's with v9, so there is a solution somewhere to this.

That was my original guess as

https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/sho...63&postcount=5

Has a special dll related to this error.

however since i am doing ASTC not QAM im not sure its related.

IS there any other logs etc i can provide?
