what does it take to get video to play on Win10?
so I have been playing with one of those cute little Intel Cumpute Sticks, kind of cool how they can shrink things these days...
but anyway, sage client loads and runs ok, but every time I try to play anything (recorded TV, mpeg, .mov, MKV, anything) I just end up with a blank screen and a playback error... this is on sage V9 if it matters, and everything works just fine on my extenders... I am guessing I need some codec's, any suggestions on what/where/how to get them? been doing extenders exclusively for so long I doubt I am up to date and the latest PC stuff... but it surprises me that the evil Malware/Spyware known as Win10 would not have any video playback capability out of the box...

Between LAV filters and ffdshow you should not have any issues playing anything.

Thanks!
LAV did the trick... odd question though, why would it not let me load the 64bit LAV? supposedly the Compute Stick is 64 bit? Quote:
no biggy though, Sage works just fine... well, except for my next issue, gemstone... all sorts of dependencies failed to load...
