Rebooting while watching recorded shows
Hey, I know I have seen some posts on this, but couldn't seem to find them when searching for them - my system is rebooting after watching recorded shows for a while. Anyone know where the thread is and/or remember any solutions?

Are you using a 350?

No, using the 250 and the Intervideo NonCSS decoders (they actually provide the best picture on my setup).

Sounds like your system wants to blue screen, but instead it's set up to reboot on 'system failure.' Go into advanced settings under system properties and uncheck 'automatic reboot' on 'system failures'. ... or it may be recorded in event viewer. This will help you troubleshoot your problem.

SageTV machine configuration at: http://toongal.superherokicks.com/HTPC/
I had the exact same issues, and followed the advice of uncheck auto-reboot. Figured it would take antoher failure to get the exact error. Then I added 2 new PVR-250's, and just had the reboot again, while watching a recorded show. It didn't blue screen, just rebooted. My current thought is that the machine is overheating, and plan on adding a fan. I turned up the logging to see if there's any metrics that back this theory, but does anyone have any ideas other than this? Thanks in advance for the help. |
