What other dockers are you using?

So now that I am getting going with SageTV in docker I am trying out some other dockers, but I am wondering what some of you other folks are using.

Here are the ones that I am using and which seem somewhat useful:
Plex
AirVideo HD (for streaming media to iOS devices)
Unifi (for managing my Ubiquiti Unifi Wireless Access Points)
Apache
Dockergui-dev - for getting a bash prompt in your web browser
Zoneminder - for managing IP cameras but I haven't got it configured yet

Off hand, I've got dockers for:
  • SageTV (for TV/Video in home - and now for remote)
  • OpenDCT (for recording from HDHR Prime and HDHR OTA)
  • Plex Media Server (for remote viewing - not really in use anymore)
  • Logitech Media Server (for the home audio system)
  • CrashPlan (for backups from local computers)
  • Dropbox (for shared content used everywhere)

Here are some good plugins:
Speedtest is a good plugin to do regular tests of your bandwidth. Openfiles tells you where files are open, system buttons lets you shutdown easily, stats is good to show some disk and cpu usage.

CrushFTP and Duplicati

Just wanted to send out a notice that I added CrushFTP to the unRAID Apps catalog. My brother, who runs his own business, needed a nice web based, customer facing ftp/file sharing solution, and we stumbled upon CrushFTP. It's fairly decent software from what I can tell... and there is a free version with lots of features, and an enterprise ($$) if you need more features.

It might seem obvious to ask, why not just use DropBox and/or One Drive, and/or (insert 1000s of cloud file solutions here), but his clients were getting annoyed by having to sign up for another service, etc... and they just wanted something like... "Send me username/password and url..." type of solution. LIkely says more about the industry than anything else

Another docker app that I installed recently is Duplicati... this is a very simple backup solution, allowing you to use your OneDrive, Goggle Drive, Drop Box, etc, (or another server), as a backup solution. If you've felt overwhelmed when using some of the other backup solutions, this is likely for you I'm only using it to backup my flash drive to my google drive account every week.

Is there a free version? When I look at their web page it looks like Shareware as their lowest option seems to be a $40 Home version.

I looked at that as well - I got as far as installing the docker but could not easily figure out the logon information needed to get to a working web page for it - ha!

All I can say, is that I have it running... and I didn't pay anything for it... and I downloaded it directly from their site. It could be that without a license, it will limt the # of users, and certainly there are some features like "sharing" that simply isn't there. But, it does work, as is.

I probably should have noted it in the description... Default username/password is
crushadmin/crush8password$

You should change that

I just started using PiHole. It is an ad blocker that was initially written to run on a Pi but it has been revised to run in a docker. You change the DNS for your devices to the IP of your docker and it blocks pretty much all ads. I have only been using it for a short time but it looks great so far.

Wayne, my Pi for PiHole was just delivered to my US mailbox yesterday. Also a Pi3 for an OpenHAB server (the project is really coming along). Both I could run in a docker on a shared server, but I wanted a stand-alone appliance form-factor for these specifically.

Check out Shinobi as a (supposedly much better) alternative to Zoneminder. I'm not sure I'll get to IP cameras until the end of the year, but that's the app I've been the most impressed with after some weeks of grinding through the web for info/advice.

This is what I'd like to set up first on the new server:

SageTV (OTA ATSC recording from HDHR Quatro, server for Android clients)
OpenDCT (for automatic transcoding of new recordings)
Plex Server (Primary media serving for home/mobile)
Logitech (Squeezebox) Media Server (Music serving home/mobile)
Timemachine (for Apple backups)
Handbrake (i have a lot of existing recordings I'd like to keep and transcode)

Stuff to look at later:

Shinobi (CCTV - it'll tie into OpenHAB for some control/automation)
TVHeadEnd (TV streaming server, to pull online sources - would like to connect to Sage)
Filebot (media file renaming/management)
Bliss (music file cleanup/management)

I'm also looking for recommendations for more traditional MP3 Tag editing - I currently rely on MP3Tag in Windows where I do final touch-up on music I primarily organize and manage/tag with iTunes.

I am running PiHole in a docker rather than dedicating a Pi to it - this works very well. I am now using Blue Iris for IP cameras. It is excellent but t is more hardware intensive and only runs on Windows.
