The CA that issued the certificate for this forum has expired

I couldn't find a more appropriate channel to communicate this, but under some conditions I noticed that Chrome was not happy with the certificate provided by forums.sagetv.com. What I discovered is that while the certificate for the forums is valid through 7/19/2017, the CA that issued that certificate expired on 12/31/2016.

Edit: This is consistent when using FireFox. I'm now thinking somehow the latest intermediate CA certificate didn't make it everywhere, so maybe this isn't something we're going to fix here.

Not sure why SSL Shopper shows that. When I view the certificate in Chrome it shows the intermediate expires 12/31/2017 and the CA expires 5/20/2022.

I've been getting the same warning on chrome on my phone for a few weeks now for this site. Firefox on my PCs and Safari on my ipad do not complain...

Thanks for pointing out the details on this. I've now fixed the problem.

It was weird because in my browser it was showing the proper CA cert in the chain about the SSL cert we have on our server...however that SSL checker site was clearly showing a wrong one. When I downloaded the cert chain from the server...the wrong one was in there and it matched what that site showed. So then I just uploaded them all again (and made sure I used the proper CA cert file this time) and all is well.

Cool. My workplace changed to a new proxy and I noticed that Chrome complained all of the time about the certificate thereafter, but at home it was fine. I reported the issue at work since a problem with a Google CA could eventually be a problem all over the place. The most interesting part was that when Chrome didn't complain the chain of trust showed the right intermediate certificate. Internet Explorer had the same behavior. FireFox was the only browser that always showed that there was a problem. My understanding is that Chrome and Internet Explorer use the OS provided CA store, but Firefox uses it's own CA store.
