Do you have to restart the docker after power cycling HD-PVRs?

I have two HD-PVRs connected to my system and I have been having the odd issue with them. When I power cycle a HD-PVR it seems to disappear from SageTV. Does this mean that after power cycling a device like a tuner that I have to restart the docker as well?

I can see in the system logs a "USB disconnect".

I guess I could do a weekly therapeutic reboot of the HD-PVRs while my dockers go down to do a backup but I am using the PC power supply hack to power my HD-PVRs. So I would have to find a way to do this via a cron job - I have a DLI power switch but then I have to switch back to wall warts.

I know on unRAID VMs that if you unplug a USB device, (e.g. my Z-Wave controller to pair with something), then plug it back it you have to shut down the VM and edit it to add the pass-though back to get it to work, (or shut down the VM before unplugging which I tend to forget to do). I know this is opposite of your issue and a Docker, but maybe the USB stuff overall is flaky to disconnects of some sort.

I recently bought a Prime and a Connect. They're using wall-warts right now, but when they fail, (which it sounds like they will), I'm thinking of using a spare PC power supply just for them and not plugged into a computer. Probably not very energy efficient, but something like that would allow for remote power cycling.

How would you initiate the power cycle? Can you do that programatically?

There are IP Power switches that let you turn off power to specific outlets. Like: https://www.amazon.com/IP-Power-9258.../dp/B005D55HKU

Assuming I'm understanding the above correctly anyway.

I always restart the docker container (not unRAID itself) after I power cycle a device.

Yes - I have the Digital Loggers 8 outlet version. I can control that programmitcally, but to do so I had to order a couple of wall warts as I can't do that with using a PC power supply.
