NVidia ShieldTV 6.0 Warning

A quick warning for ShieldTV users out there, 6.0 appears to break MPEG2 streams, injecting stuttering into your viewing experience.

I have experienced this myself in both Plex and the miniclient. Stay on 5.2 if MPEG2 is in your library.

Seems like NVIDIA is aware, but no official release with a fix TMK.

They're testing a fix now - go to the third page in the thread at the Plex forum above and click the link to submit form to request testing their fix.

Ya, they pushed the engineering fix to me yesterday. Seems to have resolved the issue so far.

Is the fix you received cumulatively versioned "6.1?" - someone posted about a 6.1 beta on the FB group but the attached screenshot didn't include mention of the MPEG-2 issue.

6.1 should be available to everyone now - any confirmations it fixes this issue?

Folks have been reporting success, however I have not yet tried considering my experience with 6.0.

Plex is playing back MPEG-2 720p and 1080i without issue with 6.1. However, it does say something similar to "transcode reason: codec (mpeg2) not supported" when you check info while playing - even though it also says "video: direct and audio:direct"

Miniclient plays back fine using IJK and as mentioned in the other thread(s) EXO has issues with some of my OTA channels streams.
