Just lost all my EPG data :(
Was updating my file this morning, and all seemed to go okay.
Got the epgdata.xml, with the data in it. But, when I load sage it has all the right channels, but the data is empty. Any ideas please? I have setup the epg inside sage again to see if that would read the file, but no luck. thanks, simon. |

Did you follow the how-to when you set it up?
You can force the xml file to be read into sage by going to channel setup, toggle the green button on one of the channels by pressing select (or whatever), toggle it back to it's original status and then select 'Done with Channel Setup'. |

thanks, will try that.
I didnt expect such a quick response, so I was using the time to do a --slow just for the heck of it. |

Yep, that worked, un-greening and greening a channel.
Thats going to be a pain if I need to do everytime it gets new data. Last edited by edgley; 07-24-2004 at 08:32 AM. |

It will automatically do the job every 24 hours, this is just a way of forcing an instant update.
If you go to System Information it will tell you when the next update will be performed. Have you set XMLTV to run as a scheduled job in Windows Scheduler? |

nope, not got that automated yet.
Will try that next. It took 50 mins for a slow to run, and that was for only 770k of data. |

Just found this thread when my EPG data dissapeared.
Selected, disable all channels, then enable all channels, then done and the EPG data appeared instantly. Thanks |

I have the same problem, bt nothing seems to fix it. I tried the above solutions, still no EPG.

Todd,
I have, in the past, experience numerous problems with the EPG. The first thing I always do is check the format of the file, and the amount of data in it. For me 14 days worth of data with 120 channels is around 14MB. If that is right I generally move onto the sage server itself. First checking the CPU time and memory use using task manager. If there is a high CPU rate it could indicate that the import of EPG is causing Sage an issue, I have often seen this if there is a format problem from the download of EPG. Shutting down and doing the force EPG sometimes resolved the issue, other then that it is the boring download and install one days worth of data at a time. You don't say how you download the EPG, I use the excellent XMLTV RadioTimes grabber from http://www.alanbirtles.dsl.pipex.com which has just had an update to correct a time format problem before the BST > GMT changeover this week. Please let us know if you need more assistance. Ron. |
