Dscaler 5

just wondering anyones elses thoughts

a free mpeg2 decoder
quality seems pretty good with both overlay and VMR9

http://www.dscaler.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3440

you need to adjust one line of the sage properties hopefully Frey will make it a default decoder for next release

maybe they could even include this decoder once they get more developed

videoframe/additional_video_filters=Mpeg2 Video Decoder,Video In,Video Out

And, what is your take on quality etc, this time? I am particlarly interested in overlay vs NVDVD4.

Well I'm giving Dscaler5 a shot. I have it working in TV, but when I try playing DVDs I get the DVD copy protection error. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

flashback,

It doesn't include any deCSS so it can't play copy protected DVD content. To get it to work you'll need something like AnyDVD.
