sage remote cleaning

The last couple of years, I've been having problems with the remote actually working correctly with the box. Usually hit and miss pressing most buttons... Searched to figure out how to take apart the remote with no results. decided to tinker with it to clean the contacts, and found the mystery screw under the front sticker. With that removed its easy to pop the locking tabs under the rubber bumper along the bottom and sides.
Sprayed it all with cleaner, and it works like new again

Figured I'd post this since I found a few posts on not being able to take apart the remote

Thanks for the tip

I wondered how to take the remote apart. I have a couple that could stand cleaning as well.

You just cleaned the PCB, correct?

Anyone have to do anything the the rubber(?) buttons? If so, what worked?

You may need to get some conductive paint, like car defroster repair paint, to restore the conductivity of the underside of the buttons.

I cleaned both the rubber pad and the board with electronic cleaner. The board looks like conductive paint

Instead of peeling up the decal, maybe drill/punch a small hole thru the decal where the screw hole is located?

That's a great idea. Those decals don't look too happy to be peeled back.

HD200 remote = decal
HD300 remote = no decal, text painted directly on case

Maybe???

they possibly did away with that mystery screw....It seemed like overkill the way the case snaps together anyway.. My remote has a slot in the battery compartment, where I looked and saw a post where the mystery screw was located... I have an HD100, and two HD 200s

I found the one near the bottom - as shown in the pic.

Where are the other 2?

do you need to peel off the rubber strip that wraps around the remote?
