You now have control over what content is transcoded or not. You can change the behavior in the new menu for Container and Codec support.

FYI. Fixed is the preferred mode.

So I have a few Shields. Two have upgraded to 1.10 and I can neither watch TV nor watch stored Videos. I only get a blank screen. All my Live TV is streamed from HDHR devices and a Ceton Eth 6 which normally work great. A little confused on what good settings should be as I rarely mess with them and am not really clear on what is new versus what was there before the upgrade.

I can watch everything on my SageTV PC Clients....


Any thoughts?

Same here. Woke up today to this problem and have been pulling my hair out trying to find the right settings to get all channels to work. My hdhomerun channels work but not all of the TVE ones. Food Network and others give me a black screen. In some cases even the channel switching doesnt work but everything is perfect both the the pc client and pc based place shifter.

Downgraded to 1_9_3 and everything seems back to normal.

Could you give me a some more detail. Are you saying that some channels are working, and others are not? Are you also using a Shield?

What settings were you using prior to the upgrade? Not sure if this a something I broke, or possibly the newer version of ExoPlayer causing issues.

Can you give me some more details.

What settings were you using. What player, what streaming mode, any other details.

Wouldn't mind using Fixed, but I can't leave the option Transcoding Preference as "As Needed", as I still get the same issue. I have to set it "As Always" which means I'm transcoding, even though I'm on my home network at Gigabit speeds.

By the way I've tried both IJK and EXO. Had been set to IJK up to this point.

So all the channels from OTA channels with hdhomerun seem to work. I use TVE channels via Channels dvr for others and only some of them work. The rest give black screens.

I actually still have the new version on one of my shields trying to figure out how to get logs specific to it to upload.

Do you happen to know the container and codec of the TVE channels. I am struggling to find a common thread here. The only one I am seeing is that it seems to be impacting the Shields mainly. I have not heard anyone mention any other devices yet.

Thanks! While having more metadata would be icing on the cake, I really just care about the playback status being reflected accurately so I can automate an auto-off if someone *cough*wife*cough* leaves the tv on with nothing playing for hours.

I checked my other Android TV Boxes which are not shields. They have upgraded to 1.10 and there it no video on them either. Generally most of mine have been set to Exo and Dynamic and worked well. I have tried a variety of setting but am still getting no video on any of my devices.

I have attached my log. I only had the box (nvidia shield) that had the most recent client running after a restart of the sagetv server. I turned the local ABC channel (hdhomerun) that worked well. I then tried to tune Comedy Central (TVE channel). The client jumped back to ABC. ( I am sure Comedy central works because the downgraded client can tune it).

I then tried to tune MTV (Nick Cannon's Wilding Out) and left it there on the black screen trying to tune.

I noticed this error. I dont know if it helps:

I know this is probably not the root of the issue here, but can you use a different container than mpegts. Possibly mkv? Mkv is much more supported.

Do you have it set as Always Transcode? If so, it should playback the TVE if the transcoder is able to transcode it. I am assuming the issue is happening prior to transcoding.

I am pretty sure your error is happening prior to it getting to the client this error makes me think there is something wrong with the recording.
Sage appears to be killing the viewing. "VideoFrame had an error loading the file. It must abort the file load.".

Two things.

1. Does content other than live tv seem to work? Does recorded TV work.
2. Can you send me a copy of your SageTV log after you try and watch live tv and let me know what you were trying to watch.

I have 3 shields that have android 11 on them, two of them updated the Minclient and my OTA hd homerun recordings and Live TV are black. The recording/live tv play about 2 seconds of video and then go black.

I also have some IPTV fed through OpenDCT and the video plays fine but no audio.

My other shield that did not update works fine on the same recordings.

I was using IJK, Dynamic which worked well for me.

** EDIT: Live tv seems be be not working. Recordings seems to work ok **
