Fire TV Stick 4K Behavior

I'm using the miniclient on a Fire TV Stick 4K. I've noticed if I leave the miniclient on the main screen (probably any screen, actually) and shut off the television, the next time I turn the television on it reverts to the Fire TV home screen, instead of where I left off in the miniclient. My stick is powered from an AC adapter, not the television usb port, so the stick is fully powered when the television is off.

Anyone know the setting or combination of settings that is necessary to keep the stick in the miniclient, instead of reverting back to the Fire TV home screen?

I thought there was a setting in their in the initial Mini client screen (you'll have to dig through its settings) for a time out and exit.

Taking a look at the miniclient settings, I think you are probably referring to the "Exit App when on Stand By" setting. My initial testing when I unchecked this setting, was that after some time the miniclient exits out of the SageTV main screen, and displays the miniclient main screen (which displays the list of SageTV servers and the miniclient settings button). The behavior that I am really desiring is that the miniclient will stay on whatever Sage screen was displayed when the television was turned off. This would be consistent with the way an HD300 behaves.

Got it. Yeah, I don't believe I've seen any app stay open like that on the Fire Stick nor the new Chromecast Google TV stick over a prolonged period of time. Don't know much about how Android on HDMI works, but it seems like once the state has changed or time has elapsed when idle, these things go into a sleep state and start closing apps.

Haven't tried this, but found an article about disabling sleep via ADB. maybe it'll help.
