Adding an external WD EasyStore (Elements) drive - how to set up?

I grabbed one of these on sale at Best Buy, and am trying to figure out what's the best way to set it up as a secondary storage location.

I have two drives for recording from my tuners, but I'd like to archive things from these drives onto the WD EasyStore.

It has a built-in software suite, which does things like automating backups and grabbing new updates of specific folders, dirs. etc.

But.... how would Sage Server want to access an external drive like this?

Is it necessary to add some path coding to the sage.properties file?
Would the WD software be of no use?

My idea was to just add the external drive designation in "Setup Media Center Import Directories", or am I completely off base...

Any help or suggestions would be great, as my drives are full

thanks

Yes, make sure it's in a USB port that won't be disturbed, and the just add a directory on it as an import directory.

Unless you need the functionality. I've never used any bundled software with any HD I bought.
