remote controller keypresses

Beta 1.35

Perhaps I'm just not reading closely enough...

I'm trying to map as many SageTV remote keypresses as possible to a Radio Shack Kameleon remote controller, one that uses the All-in-One remote control sets. At the moment, I'm trying to use the remote contol mapping utility built within SageTV rather tha something like Girder.

What is the best remote to emulate? A Tivo remote comes close, but not close enough.

There are some things, such as looking at program detail information that I can bring up by right clicking with my mouse, but that I can't seem to do with the remote controller. Is there a remote button for this detailed text description?

After so many minutes of inactivity, the screen blanks out which I can restore using a keyboard click, but not a remote click. Is there a way to just turn this off?

I can't find any zip codes that pick up my local cable carrier, Insight Communications (I'm at 61822, Champaign, IL.) So, inside SageTV I've done a remapping of cable stations of a Chicago cable system to match mine, and it sort of works (wish I could somehow also load the schedule of my local stations, which do show up for my zipcode.) However, SageTV Client apparently ignores the cable channel numbe remapping. For instance Bravo might be on local channel 35, but it shows up on SageTV Remote as channel 47.

You can disable the SageTV screen saver in detailed setup. If it's already disabled, look at your power settings and change them to never turn monitor off.

The others Jeff'll have to address.

David,

For Champaign, I would recommend choosing a town on the western edge of the Indianapolis market. Some of these towns also receive Champaign stations so you would get the correct schedule and then you could just re-map the channel number in Channel Setup.

To map the "right-click", the command is "Options".

Yes, I did know (was sort of hoping to appeal to that alma mater loyalty as you look to expand cable lineups beyond the major metropolitan markets.)

Appreciate all the help. Not sure about the Indy choice, as that would be in a different timezone.

I finally have a PVR that I really like. You are onto a wonderful thing. I think that I've finally taught intelligent recording that I'm interested in "Paid Programing" and hope that I can do the same with regard to "Blind Date" and interior decorating programs.
