Live TV don't start using antenna out from digital decoder
Hi everybody,
I'm currently testing Sage 2.0 with my new Hauppage PVR 250 card taking input from antenna out of a digital decoder provided by SKY Italy. Everything works fine with Hauppage's WinTv2000, that gets all channels thru the single channel UHF 36 (VCR connection). Obviously i had to change channel manually on the decoder, or automating the channel switch with usb/uirt that i' dont' have yet. But in Sage Tv 2.0 I'm not able to setup any visible input from any channel, be it default or custom, with or without xmltv installed and with a working epgdata.xml file available in SageTv directory. How can setup an input source like this ?? Bye Enrico |

You need to specify the input source as 'TV Tuner' then 'use external receiver to tune channel' then enter the Windows channel number that the Sky box uses...
Its this last part that is tricky, because the Windows channel numbers that Sage uses do not correspond to anything remotely like the channel numbers use in Western Europe, nor thise used by WinTV... What you can do is either look at the frequency used by WinTV 2000, then look at the MSDN page listing channel numbers/frequencies for western Europe and see which channel number you need to use... At a guess, it might be channel 36 (antenna) or channel 74 (cable lineup) ( both are 591.250 Mhz) You could also just add new source as TV Tuner/tune to Cable or Antenna / don't use programming data, then just browse the channels numbers until you find which one is yours...
