Question Are all freeview boxes born equal

I have a Furguson FDT500 that I am trying to implement into Sage at the moment. It seems to take an age to change channel on it. Its probably about 3-5 seconds from the moment you change channel on Sage to the moment the channel actually changes visually.

Are there thoroughbreds of the freeview box world?
This kind of delay just will not stand up to the WAF factor.

It is being controlled by a USB-UIRT. But the box is fairly slow in normal use. Add that to the inherrant latency of the PC/Sage and it just takes an age.

I think I am going to need to get another freeview box, as I can't use multiple XLMTV sources (I'm in in the UK), which means that I have to have exactly the same lineup for each card. I would like to get a faster box if possible this time.

Any ideas?

Cheers dudes

You can use multiple different XMLTV lineups with the plugin I wrote:

nielm - will this plugin effect the importing of channel logos? I seem to be having some trouble importing logos for one of the cards.

Partially managed to sort it. BBC1 is now called: 1 - BBC1 south & SE. So I have had to rename the .gif to 1.gif - and so on for the rest of the terrestrial channels.

There is one annoying channel though! TMF. this is called 'TMF: The Music Factory' in the line-up. Windows will not allow me to use the ':' symbol, so I cant use the picture.

Any ideas?
