new to SageTV client "bought it today"
Good afternoon everyone from a fresh newbie
i just purchased the sageTV client software and i entered in the unlock key, everything is all fine up to that point. now its asking me for the IP address or name of the sageTV server. once some light is shed upon me. i will be smiling again! i need help, god i am new  thanks in advance, Eric

Did you also buy SageTV and install it on another machine? SageTVClient is to be used together with SageTV. If you have both... the client is looking for the IP address of the computer on your network where SageTV is installed. Or, you can use the computer name: Control Panel -> System -> Computer Name tab, and look at what is listed after "Full computer name".

If you meant to buy the stand-alone SageTV (i.e. you don't have a network with SageTV already installed somewhere), then you bought the wrong thing (oops). Contact Frey support and see if they can do something for you. The SageTV software you probably wanted is just called "SageTV version 2.0" and costs $79.95. As Opus4 described above, "SageTV Client" is intended to be used on a SECOND system networked with a computer running the main SageTV software (also known as the SageTV server).
And if $80 sounds steep for "TV software," remember you get all future upgrades free, and I promise you, SageTV will revolutionize your TV viewing habits! (I'm just a happy customer, not a Frey emplyee!)
