Plextor announcement
Read up on the specs, seems really cool. Would make using a PVR-350 a bitch though. Seems like the xCard is a damned good matchup for TV Out with that. Does anyone know who makes the chipset for the Plextor PVR? I tried looking but couldn't find it. Timeshifting is going to be nice as well... Nice way to improve the PVR product.

Anyone had any success at all with playing DivX over the MVP? I heard awhile ago it was going to add software transcoding but that is all. Anyone?

Mlbdude,
I have had success playing Divx videos on the MVP. In fact, I have converted many of my DVDs to Divx 5 and my wife watches them on the MVP while exercising. The only negative is that the skip forwards/backwards (30 seconds) are not as quick as if you are playing an MPG file (due to transcoding). Otherwise the quality is fine and I haven't had any A/V sync problems. -Chris |

Yes the MVP plays Divx and there is a new beta that was released August 10th.
