SageTV automatcially deletes a manual recording after viewing?????

Well yesterday I watched the Dallas Cowboys beat the Browns
and immediately after finishing watching the game
the file stopped like it should
then deleted the file for me

It was a manual recording and I was planning on deleting it
but SageTV did it

I closed SageTV and looked for the file but could not find it

Then I opened up malore's STV and it was not a viewed or recorded program

Not really mad because I watched the entire game

but it was strange

anyone else have any strange behavior like this?

SageTV isn't supposed to automatically delete _any_ manual recordings. You checked the Viewing History (from malore) and it wasn't even listed? I would double check the title of the recording that you should be searching for in the history list.

Sounds like a glitch to me... unless you accidentally hit the record button at some point, clearing the Manual Recording setting. Do you have that property set to have SageTV not delete 'unwanted' shows, or do you have IR on?

no way
I did hit record by accident at one point
that must have been it
Thanks Opus4
I have no idea how you knew that but thats great to know that SageTV did not freak out

and it was not listed after this in viewing history

Why though does hitting record have this behavior ?

I think this should be fixed with a notification of some kind
asking do you want this show to be deleted after viewing or keep recording a manual recording

and Thanks Again

Hitting record basically toggles the Manual Recording setting and turned it back into a "nothing" show. I believe Sage 2.1 will have this fixed along with the similar Favorite issue.

Yes -- that's part of the fix Jeff already mentioned in that Favorites thread (I don't have the link handy). Completed scheduled recordings won't disappear like this any more, even when you turn IR off.

The fact that SageTV considered it to be a "nothing" show [to use mlbdude's terminology ] could also be why it was 'forgotten' in your viewing history.

I figured
and Thanks

and I did not realize that got covered in the fix posted
also they said they would fix the nvDVD 2.55 and 3.0 issues
(by disabling DXVA would crash SageTV)
version 4 has not displayed this behavior BUT I am unable to access the special VMR9 types of deinterlacing in version 4

I have never had an issue with nvDVD 2.55 with DXVA on or off. I would guess that is an issue with your video drivers somehow.
