How to make Sage the best HTPC software

Hi

I am having ATI 9800, 350 PVR & 250 PVR cards. I am looking for the best customisable solution of HTPC. Sage is customizable to a great extent, but

1. Does the configuration file format change often?
2. Is there any tools to do the customization easier?
3. Are there more cuztomization methods available but its not evident?

Lookin for info! Let me know!

Vik

Yes and yes. Search on the word 'studio'.

Plenty of words on studio. Not much in the way of something actually usable. I think they meant something that works now, and that I have no idea.

I guess you're probably right, x[corwyn].

Viki, you might want to post information on the kinds of customizations that you'd like to make. Doing so would make it easier for people to help you.

It's pretty stable, stuff gets added every once in a while (with new features), and removed. But most of the user experience stuff is controlled through the UI anyway so it's no big deal.

You don't really need to go into the properties file more than once, so there's not much need to make it easier.

There are all the custom STVs floating around, the most customizeable one is probably neilm's XML config based one.

And dito on what Stuart said, without knowing your needs/intentions it's hard to answer. For example, most of my responsed are geared toward configuration/setup stuff. That's all pretty easy and mostly through the UI. Customization is really impossible w/o studio, however, you do have other custom STV options (mlbdude, malore, neilm, etc.) and neilm has made a nice customizeable STV.

There may be some confusion on what is meant by "configuration file format". I don't think the file format has ever changed, but properties are certainly added and may sometimes be removed.
