Can't get UI on my PVR-350?

I'm borrowing a friends PVR-350 just to see how it works. I can get video out to the TV but can't seem to to get the UI to display. I have the setting enabled in Detailed Setup>Multimedia.

Am I missing something or is this a wonderful PVR350 hickup with my setup?

Thanks
Kevin

Wow, that's a new one.

Could you give a little bit more information on your configuration, such as the motherboard model / mftr / chipset?

I'm thinking this is just one of the oddities that goes with the PVR-350 and some motherboards, but I'm only speculating here. I can tell you first hand though that the PVR-350 does interact wildly different depending on the chipset of the motherboard that you're using.

Also, what version of the drivers are you using? Be sure to use the latest from shspvr (www.shspvr.com).

Thanks for the reply guys. I was able to get it to work after an uninstall/reinstall of Sage. Wow I love the quality of the 350 its amazing. It wokred fine for about 3 hours then locked up. I'm assuming this is one of those issues. I am going to investigate more and see if I can illeviate the problem due to the fact that this card's picture quality is amazing.

Yeah, when my wife saw it after I got it in the mail, she about flipped. I was then able to lobby for why I needed to replace a working motherboard with one that is known to function properly with the PVR-350.

Specifically, I purchased an nForce II chipset motherboard. I bought the MSI K7n2g motherboard, and have absolutely loved it since the day I got it.

Good luck with your lock ups bud!

Yeah I may have to go to a new MB. Hell I don't care though the money is worth it. Right now I am trying drivers I found on shspvr's site. So far so good. We'll see how long it lasts. If they don't work a new motherboard will be ordered.

With your board do you get any lock ups at all? Or are the just infrequent?
Thanks

When I first got it, I had a problem with the UI locking up about once every 3-4 weeks. All I had to do was disable / re-enable the UI in the detailed setup. I got tired of doing that, so I now schedule a reboot on the first saturday of each month with the task scheduler and a little vbscripting.
