Power Management

I downloaded the manual for 2.1 and I am still not clear on a couple of things.

1.) Will SageTV prevent the system from going into standby/hibernate if a SageTVCleint is active, i.e. connected?

2.) Will SageTV Re Initialize any IR Blasters on resume?

For both of the reasons above I have a speciall setup that combines SageWake and RS Somnifero and a special hibernate/standby program I created since normal power management doesn't work since I used UNC names. and it appears that when SageTV periodically checks for changes in the image driectories it resets the sleep timer.

Well I downloaded the beta and my answer to number 2 is not it does not appear to reinitialize the ir blasters as when I resumed the system it behaved the same way that it did in the old version, CPU bouncing between 20% and 100%...very ugly.

I guess I will still be using SageWake.

Update.

Jeff is looking into the IR Blasters not reinitializing on resume.

Jeff told me that he is not preventing the system from going into hibernate/standby if you go to the start menu hit standby or hibernate. He is just preventing the system sleep timer from letting the windows power management features from turning off the display or going into standby / hibernate.

I still have not heard or had a chance to test if SageTV is smart enough to prevent the sleep timers from expirin, going to stanby or hibernate, when a SageTVClient is connected...even if it does not have a media file open.
