Feature Req: Txt output for LCD

Hello,
I've been searching for a way to get data from Sagetv onto my VFD.
I found a simple software (Smartie) that can display txt files on my vfd.

Now my req/question:
Can someone with Studio code a plugin that would be able to output the current show/channel in txt format, and/or DVD info? (chapter, title, etc)

Or would this be too hard to do?

Thanks for any info I get on this subject.

malore's and nielm's stvs do this. Look in the sage.properties file for the nowplaying_file property.

Do you have a link for this program? I've been hoping to get show and/or time data to show on an LCD for a while. If this program works, it might be the one thing to make me get an LCD..

http://www.ahanix.com/support.html

On this page you can get Smartie (Which works with almost any LCD/VFD (including parrallel) and the needed I/O driver for parrallel LCD/VFD.

And thanks for the info! .
Strange I didn't find this info posted anywhere :S. Guess I should search better .

Edit: I installed both STV, but can't seem to find the property :S

Edit: Well after some screwing around, I got it to work.
Smartie setup:
"Display txt line 1 on line 1"
"Display txt line 3 on 2" / "Display txt line 4 on line 2"

Then you get:
World Sports
0:37:23 / 1:26:42

Only, it doesn't output the channel name :-/..

Sorry, but the now playing property was at my request and I only requested show/episode/current time/total time to be in the file.
