I've had no luck whatsoever getting these codecs to work at all, although 4.00.18 works just fine. They won't work in ZP, sage, etc.

What’s New in Version 1.00.67
Version 1.00.67 of the NVIDIA DVD Decoder includes the following changes and
fixes since version 1.00.58:
Windows Media Center
• Added Media Center extensions for the DVD and MPEG-2 decoder
• Added installation of VMR9 QFE for improved MPEG-2 1080i playback
Video Decoder
• Workaround for problem with VMR9 pro-camp causing out of order deinterlacing
on MPEG-2 1080i contest with Quartz.dll v2058
• Improved buffer management performance and handling for Media Center HD
playback (especially for 128MB cards)
• Re-enabled support for VMR9 pro-camp color controls for Media Center playback
on NVIDIA GPU cards
• Fixed a crash in Windows Media Player 10 that occurred when opening the
Decoder Property page icon while trans-coding an Media Center Edition file to
Portable Media Center device
• Fixed an issue with the decoder output crushing blacks with some display driver
versions.
• Fix an issue with aspect ratio handling with certain content on Media Center.
• Fix for potential deadlock during stop/pause/play transition under Microsoft
stress test
• There is a color banding or solarizing effect on software-decoded ʺVideoʺ mode
material (for example, Shrek2)
• Fix for multiple decoder task tray icons when using Windows Media Player in a
playlist or repeat mode.
• Fix for bad luma values in software YUY2 decode filtering+SP blend on top and
bottom lines

Audio Decoder
• Changed to allow MPEG audio decoding on non-Dolby certified applications
• Changed default Dolby Dynamic Range Compression mode from “Late Night” to
“Normal”
• Fixed transcoding of multi-channel audio to WMA Pro 5.1
• Fixed transcoding of ATSC content to Portable Media Center device
Post Processing
• Fixed a red chroma problem on “Raiders of the Lost Arc” DVD
• Fixed the post processor support where interlaced video was being double deinterlaced
• Added DXVA De-interlace “Smart mode” support for all 2-2 NTSC cadences
including those sequences that have progressive_frame = 1. Example DVDs
incluce GalaxyQuest main menu, Cable Guy fight scene, and Looney Tunes Vol2,
Disk 4 chapter 4.
Multi-Source Transport Reader
Added a new feature to allow adding a function to the interface to allow the filter to
recalculate the duration list.
Transport Stream Info Parser
• Fix for divide by zero error on certain transport streams
• Fix to restore to desired program selection after a seek
I don't really see much that effects me as far as watching dvd's in zoomplayer and TV in sage, not going to risk it.

The big change from a SageTV standpoint is that the new audio decoder supports MPEG audio, so you should be able to use the audio decoder for TV in Sage now.

Very strange...

Tried various ways to get this Nvidia codec to work (well). Selecting the codec directly worked, but wasn't much of an improvement. Also, in so doing the Nvidia icon would show in the tray, but I couldn't open it.

Tried to use FFDSHOW, per the instructions posted here, but that resulted in a black screen and the Nvidia codec not loading (no Nvidia icon in the tray).

Finally I tried selecing NVVPP as the codec in Sage...whoo boy, that works, and gives a stunning picture, but upon starting Sage it takes almost a minute for it to start up (during which time my CPU is pegged and the computer is non-responsive). I also went through some strange difficulties with aspect ratio, but that seems to have cleared up.

Anyone else selecting NVVPP directly as the codec in Sage? With good results?

Yes indeed, solidy in the VPP category for SAGE as well Cannot get it to work for DVD playback for some odd reason, but the Nvidia Decoder option still gives me a very good picture, so it hasn't been foremost on my list of things to do

Looking back thru this thread, I do see that others are using VPP successfully...but no one's complaining about the problems I'm seeing, so here goes:

1) As mentioned above, starting Sage can take a long time--starting playback of a file or watching live TV can take about 45 seconds to get rolling, during which time CPU is pegged at 100% and the system is non-responsive.

2) Once playback begins, the aspect ratio is stretched horizontally. This is corrected by changing channels (if doing file playback, you have to switch to live TV, then change channels, then go back to file play).

Any ideas? I tried various versions of getting rid of the wiz files, as mentioned elsewhere for certain 100% CPU issues, but that didn't help.

Sure is a great picture, though, far beyond anything else I've been able to get!

Mine didn't, either, when I used the NVidia codec, but it does now that I'm using VPP instead. Which are you using?

It's a known issue when using nVidia Video Decoder as the selected decoder.

I hope someone can help me out. I had the 1.00.67 nVidia audio decoder working perfectly with SageTV 2.1 but all of a sudden today it won't work. I must have changed something but I can't figure it out. The nVidia audio decoder works fine with Zoom Player but not SageTV. I have nVidia selected as my audio decoder in Sage but when I open the nVidia properties only the Video tab is showing, not the audio tab. I don't know what audio decoder Sage is using. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Sage and the nVidia decoders but it didn't help. I even tried Sage 2.0 and 2.2 beta. Anyone have any ideas for me?

Thanks,
Greg

SageTV is not dolby certified
that is why I think you are not seeing the audio settings
it is most probably the decoder being used
but you can check by using window media player which is dolby certified

I got the icon to appear with version 1.00.58, but no ability to change options (crashed every time I tried). After removing andf then reinstallign 1.00.67, I got the icon to appear.. (Used NVVPP). I was able to edit the options... it told me to restart the App for the setting to take effect. Did that... then the icon never resurfaced.

Also, the NV Audio decoder doesn't work for me at all with 1.00.67. Just gives me error message in Sage.

I also have no string item for DisableTrayIcon. Can anyone confirm that this value exists in the NV DVD Decoder or Filter Reg Directory under HKLM\Software\nvidia?

I think the NVVPP is working, but there is no icon... and now I have a horizontal problem where the video displays using ~80% of the horizontal.

I get the icon, using NVVPP, and I can get the decoder properties dialog to display, too.

I did have a problem where the video would start stretched horizontally (which it appears I've fixed by selecting the last radio button on the "Display Type" setting, "Anamorphic/Raw Aspect"). Yours sounds like the opposite, 80% of horizontal meaning it's windowboxed? Might check what you have for their aspect ratio setting.

Also, I was able to get the aspect ratio to correct itself by simply changing channels. I take it that doesn't correct it for you.

Sill facing a huge delay on startup...anyone else seeing that? I'm starting to wonder if it's some interaction with ReClock.

I get a delay whenever the OSD load the file.. about 10 seconds.. this happens with the window in menu structure or upon launching a media file (if window in background menus is not selected).

I can't get the icon to appear again... and I hadn't tried changing channels to correct the video... I am trying reverting to a backup (just before nVidia) to see if I can do things differently to get the icon back. Will let you know...

No luck with the icon... tried installing a few times... the VPP is working, but I can't access the settings. Anyone who has a working icon wanna share your registry settings (I think it's in the HKLM\software\nVidia\Filters or Filters\VPP)?
