Why won't my DVDs play in Sage?

I can play DVDs directly through any DVD software player (NVDVD, Media Player, PowerDVD, etc.) but if I attempt to play the same DVD through Sage, the entire application, Sage that is, blows up and shuts itself down after reaching the DVD's main menu and selecting Play DVD. This seems like a license/encryption problem, but I already know I can play the DVD's on my computer. Why won't SAGE play the DVDs?

I just installed SAGE three weeks ago, so I have a current version.

Under detailed setup, make sure sage is using the dvd decoder filter from your dvd software. If its using the one that comes with the hauppauge card, it won't be able to play encrypted dvd's.

FWIW, try a different audio decoder.
