Firewire camcorder conflict
I just noticedvthis. When I have my digital camcorder connected to my Firewire port, the error in the image below whenever I start SageTV. Everything works fine when I hit "OK", but it's kind of annoying. Is there a fix for this besides unplugging the camcorder or removing it from Device Manager? Thanks!

Using Notepad, in the Sage.properties file, set disable_encoder_prep to true. That'll stop that error from occuring.

Thanks...it worked! It's almost like you know what you're doing!
What is disable_encoder_prep anyhow?

When SageTV starts up, it'll scan all of the video capture devices for any that don't have multiplexed audio/video encoding. It'll then try to load them and clear their buffers by doing a short test capture. This helps with audio/video sync for those devices. Since it doesn't know whether or not you're going to be using that other capture device, it tries to load it to see if its even available for use. disable_encoder_prep causes this the loading/verification/test captures not to occur. This will cause you no problems if you're using a PVR 250 or 350.
