Endymion, is it's possible you have some some setting wrong from "playing" with it trying to get it to work? Maybe you could delete the properties file (and backup). Do a re-install (fix/modify) and then copy this new DLL into your SageTV directory.
Then fire up and re-configure and see how that goes? |

Ok, here's what I just did: 1. Back up sage (of course). 2. Uninstall sage from control panel. 3. Delete Frey Technologies directory. 4. Remove Frey registry key. 5. Reboot 6. Ran 2.1.10 setup. 7. Copy over new .dll file. 8. run sagetv and setup sources. 9. Yelled "Woo Hoo!" when PVR250 works perfectly. 10. Said "Mutha&%*@!" When the e-home stays stuck on the same channel, no audio. 11. Reboot. Still no go on the e-home. What now? |

This may be a little late, but......
I had the exact same problem not only when I upgraded to 2.1, but when I initially installed Sage 2.0. I have 2 PVR-250 cards with the VIA chipset motherboard. The reason I bring up VIA chipset is that when I originally purchased Sage with the two 250's, I could not get wither one to even work under Windows, let alone Sage. After a call to Hauppage, I discovered you mustinstall a driver that comes with the VIA motherboards called the 4-in-one driver. After that, the cards showed up under Windows, but Sage still had the problem where one board would work and tune, but the other was stuck on one channel. If you powered down the PC, then the one board that was stuck on one channel would only show static. So, flash-forward to November 2004 and I install Sage 2.1. Same exact problem. No matter what I would do, I couldn't get one tuner to move or even tune in. I tired installing latest drivers from Hauppague to no avail. To make a long story short (too late)... What I found worked (and then remembered this is what I had to do when I first bought Sage), is to complete uninstall BOTH 250 drivers. Delete all the mmc/ lines from Sage. Then install only ONE of the 250 cards under Windows. After the single card was installed, run Sage and configure the single card. After that was working perfectly, I re-started Windows so it would try the second 250 card again. I installed the drivers again for that card, then ran Sage and configured that card. From that point, it worked fine. I never had to remove Sage completely and I didn't have to sacrifice any of the wiz files that I had built-up over time. I'm very curious to know if anyone else had a solution like this. Best regards, Stacy |

2) Pull E-Home from machine and install 2nd PVR-250 Out of curiousity and this is probably a lot of work. What happens if you pull the PVR-250 and only use the E-Home? Can you get this to work without the PVR-250? It's possible that you can get this to work first and then introduce the 250 second. I'd guess you have about a 10% chance this might work. |

Anyway, I will try removing the 250 and see if the E-Home works by itself... Only after I get my shows recorded tonight. I'll post my results and will also submit a bug report after I give it a try. Later... Ok, I pulled the PVR-250, nuked my sage install, then installed 2.1.10. The results are interesting. With just the E-Home wonder in by itself, sage tunes normally, and the e-home even changes channels properly (with or without the new .dll by the way). BUT, it's almost as if the frequencies on the channel mappings are off because I get nasty static with rolling picture and it gets worse the lower I go on the cable channels. The S-video input tunes perfectly and the e-home switches between the tuner and the s-video input normally. Now I'm gonna go find that post about custom frequencies and see if I can tweak it to get it to tune right, then I'll throw the PVR250 back in and see what happens. Hmm, I tried to install 2.1.10 again and then use the new DLL. When SageTV loaded it was extremely unresponsive, took minutes between menus, so I just gave up and held the close button for a couple minutes until it depressed and quit.
I think I'm just going to skip this round of upgrades, maybe 2.2 or something will be better. |

Ok, this officially sucks... After thinking I had it close to licked when the ehome tuned but was just a bit off... I installed the PVR250 again, now the e-home is black screen/will not tune, and the PVR250 works fine... Back to 2.0.19 I guess. Now I'm off to file bug report..

Anybody got an eHome and a PVR250/350 to work together with 2.1.10? Also, I am running Windows 2k and have an Athlon based MB. |

I have experienced all the same "bugs" that the other Sage users are experiencing with ver 2.1.10. None of the quick fixes repair the problem for good. You can get as good a result by just reloading the properties file or removing Sage and reinstalling it. None of the suggested changes fixes the real problem permanently. When release2.1.10 decides to hang it will first start running the menus will first start running slow as well as the channel changes. Eventually the channel changes result in a black window but with the correct channel number showing. But there will be no Video or audio. Prerecorded videos work fine and sometimes they will allow the channel tuning to restart in the Sage program. The only way I could get Sage to run properly was to remove the Frey Technologies folder and reinstall Ver 2.1.8 RC5. Come on Frey Technologies you have posted Ver 2.1.10 as a final release candidate and it does not work. It might be OK for a few of the power users but not the purchaser looking for a PVR for his/her TV. Stew After running for several hours perfectly Ver 2.1.8 exhibits the same problems as ver 10 and now closes the program out after attempting a channel change. the suggested DLL works for me. I now have a picture and I can finally enjoy the new functionnalities of Sage 2.1.
I'm now testing it on a longer term to see how stable it is. Anyway, I made some tests with power management features enabled and it seems to work fine. I've been absent for the WE but scheduled some recording. I'll see this evening if the shows are correctly recorded (PC is set to go in standby and to wake up to record the shows...). Anyway, thanks again for the support as the problem I submitted in this thread seems to be solved. Regards Ferdinand

Well, Sage V1.4 works fine formy 2 tuners, I'd really like to run at least V2.0 though, as this used towork.
Any ideas? Or, would anyone like to buy a Sage license? |

Bump
I'm also curious about this. Is there anyone who has gotten an Ehome and a pvr250 to work in the same machine in sage 2.1? I'd like to start messing around with sage 2.1 but, I really can't have sage down for any significant time. Anyone have any insight/experience?

Same here im having the same kind of problems you guys are having with the Ehome cards but mines a Yuan python2 card. Works just great in 2.0.19 but wont tune in 2.1.10.
Iv'e tried to get it to work but everything i have tried fails. What i have seen is that both are showing up and i can select shows to record on both but the yuan is stuck on the last channel it was on in 2.0. My pvr250 works fine i get the right channel and the video and audio works fine but the yuan i only get video no audio and as i said it's stuck on one channel no matter what channel i select for it to record. When i stop the yuan from recording the audio on the hauppauge just cuts out. I've tried the dll provided by dan but it does nothing to change any of this and i had hoped that something more would have been done about this by now so i could upgrade to the new version like all the others have or at least i would like to get my hands on one of the older beta's that do work. Unfortuantly for me i didn't download any of them because i had been to busy to do so up till now. So i would really appreaciate an update on this if anything is being done about it or not. |

I just tested a new .dll sent to me by support, and as far as I can tell, my ehome and PVR250 are now both tuning perfectly! I e-mailed my results back with the suggestion to post the new .dll to this thread, so I hope it works for you all too.
