Cheapest Place for Xcard?

I know a few people here already have xcards and I am looking to get one to eventually use with sagetv. Anyone know the cheapest place to get a hold of one of these. Should I go ebay or get one new?

Currently $82.49 at ProVantage. I've never had a problem with that company in the many years I've dealt with them. Check their site for shipping charges.

Yes, they list a cheaper price. I've completely given up on ever doing business with them again & have heard many others say the same thing. I figure that I'll actually receive my order from someone like Provantage or newegg, but it wasn't listed at newegg.

I tried to order the XCard through Buy.com the last four days and just finally got a reply from their sales support (3 days after email was sent). Their answer? Gave me their sales number and told me there would be a $3.00 charge for using it. Never mind trying to figure out what the problem is. No thanks, won't even look @ buy.com again no matter how good the deal looks.

Freegoo,

That is annoying considering that it is listed on buy.com as usually ships in 1 to 2 days.

So did you place the order and it never shipped or would it never let you actually place the order because of some sort of order system failure on the website?

I hope my MediaMVPs actually ship as expected. I guess I have been lucky so far with my dealings with Buy.com since I have never had any major problems.

The order never got placed. Every time I clicked the final order button it would simply take me back to the checkout window. No errors were ever displayed. I thought at first something was wrong with my card, but there was plenty of money in there and it went through with Provantage today. I was using the $5 coupon for being a new customer, perhaps there was something wrong with that.

I understand sometimes problems come up on ecommerce sites, but it was their non-answer that really turned me off - that and 3 days is pretty slow for pre-sales.

Yeah the measure of a good company is not that they do not make mistakes or have problems with their web ordering system but how they handle it when they problems happen. Sounds like buy.com did a really bad job dealing with with the most important aspect of their website and not addressing the fundamental flaw with why the check out process did not work correctly is ridiculous. $3 to talk to a sales person is crazy, especially since it took 3 days to get that response. I know they save money by not taking phone orders, but when a web transaction fails they need to handle the situation quickly and effeciently.

I have decided pretty much the same about Buy.com ... that I will never ever do business with them again. So far I have placed at least 100 or so orders with them (over the past 3 years). Their service *used* to be good ... but over the last year or so, it has gone totally downhill. All my orders over the last yearhave been extremely delayed (despite the fact that ALL of them showed "in stock" status with "usually ships with 1-2 days" note). NONE of them shipped in 1-2 days. The quickest item shipped in about 10 days (that too, after I e-mailed them many times). The longest one probably took about month and half !!! Many other orders got cancelled without any notice whatsoever (they STILL show up as "sent to warehouse" in the onlineorder status).

Trying to reach a customer service agent has always been a pain since they stopped the phone service. E-Mail **used** to work till about a few months back, where you could get an answer within a few hours (usually). Now that is not working either For my last two orders, I sent at least 7-8 mails NONE of which got any answer. Finally I sent a literarily (sp?) threatning mail that I am going to stop doing all business with them, and then within 2 days my last item shipped.

I will gladly pay a little bit more to Newegg who says that the order will ship within 1-2 business days, but ALWAYS ships it the SAME day I place the order ... and I receive the item in 2 days exactly ! I am done with Buy.com and their so called "good deals"

They are rated very poorly at resellerratings, especially for the last 6 months.

I would consider an X-card myself if the Sage OSD actually worked through it. As it goes, I would probably get a MediaMVP instead if I wanted a hardware decoder.

Just wanted to put a positive note in for buy.com. I placed an order for the xcard on monday morning for 74.30 (had a 10 dollar coupon). The card came with free shipping which is supposed to be slow. I however received the card tuesday afternoon. Just one day after the order. Apparently the distribution center is extremely close to me but still that is great service!

FWIW, I got my GF 6800 from Buy.com, and I've never had any trouble, with the exception that I tend to recieve my orders before they tell me they shipped them

Just ordered my from ProVantage and it came VERY quickly. Now if my new case would just arrive so that I can use it (current case only supports low profile cards).
