Sagetv 2.1 sound issue, small video issue sometimes

Just built my htpc, using sagetv 2.1 system specs

athlon 2600+ - barton
768MB PC3200
asus a7n8x-e deluxe
msi fx5200 128mb video (128bit version)
xp pro sp2
120gb wd 7200rpm hdd
pvr-250 tuner (package deal from pcalchemy.com)

use onboard sound spdif out to my receiver
svideo out on the video card to receiver

everything works really well, but occasionally out of the blue, the volume
will increase very loud for no reason, plus this happens when i change channels, volume will raise considerably higher. any ideas?

video issue: if I were to pause tv, 1 second, 1 minute.. whatever and start playing it again, its fine and smooth.. when I use the right arrow on the streamzip remote to move back up to now time on tv, the video will be jerky, and does not clear up until i change channels.. change channels and everything is fine, change back to the original channel.. fine still.

any ideas with these 2 issues?

thanks

I know this won't sound terribly helpfull, but could it be that it's just different volumes on different channels, I mean the way they are broadcast?

If you back up (left) does it get smoother? It sounds like Sage/directshow is trying to play the file faster than it's being recorded.

I thought that too, but I could be watching a program for half an hour, and all of a sudden the volume just gets loud, no changing channels or anything, and like I said before.. does it when you change channels too. when the volume does go up, its always going up to the same level, meaning all of sudden its loud, always out of the blue going up to that same loud volume.

nope, does not clear up doing that either, I tried that... have to change channels for it to clear up.
