Sage and Cable Box

I am thinking about getting digital cable and I was wondering if there is a problem with Sage switching the channel of the cable box. I know TiVO messes up quite a bit on my friend's system. The channel change doesn't go through correctly, and it ends up getting the wrong recording. Also, is the lag that comes with a cable box switching channels just added to the lag of Sage switching channels?

i'm using a digital cable box. i use the usb-uirt IR transmitter ("blaster") to change its channels. it took a bit of tweaking to get it going, but it's been rock solid for ages. it NEVER incorrectly changes the channel. channel change events are accurate, but slow.

the slowness puts a damper on flip flip flipping the tv channel. but my gf is less annoyed now that we don't fight over the remote. (who wants to use a slow remote?)

fyi, some cable boxes (? motorola dct-2000 ?) can be controlled directly through an rs-232 cable, but i've never tried that. there are tons of posts regarding that, however, so look if need be.
