Has anybody gotten one of these and actually tested it out? I want to be sure this works before setting my mind on getting one.

Do you need to use BOTH coax inputs on the card to use both tuners on the card?

Seems to me it would be logical to split this up on the card, rather than to have to use two coax lines from the source.

What about using the Haupuage remote with this card? (old or new)

Can anyone confirm this?

Actually, having two coax inputs instead of one which is split internally is useful for those of us with two sources. I can put my straight analog cable feed into one coax port and the output from my cable digital set-top box into the other. Thus Sage would not be tying up my digital cable box for recording if the show happens to be on one of the lower analog channels. I can already do this with my twp separate PVR250 cards and would want to retain this ability if I upgrade to a single PVR500 card (to save a slot).

Cheers
Lester

I suppose if they played the cards right, it could be configured either way via a simple jumper to allow internal or external connections.

I wish someone could confirm this as fact. I cant see this as an FM input.

Regarding the coax & other connectors: See this thread on SHS's forum for some info on the 500. One coax is for TV, the other is for FM. The TV input is split internally on the card. The link has more info on all the connectors.

So close.....all it needs is a connector for my IR and a remote to keep things SIMPLE...

Crashless, good luck on getting this question answered. I asked about twice an I had yet to get a real answer. I was also wonder how this unit works with two of these with a total of 4 tuners also.

Has anyone, who placed their order at Buy.com, got this card yet ?

Any other place have this in stock at a similar price (my order at Buy.com is for $134.95) ?

I cancelled my order after seeing all the issue with the 150's (500's are based off of them). I am going to wait until the drivers mature a bit.

Are the issues with Sage or with MCE2005 ? My Sage machine is already full with tuners ... but I do need the PVR500MCE for my MCE2005, which is in a Shuttle box and has only one PCI slot.

So do you know if/how this card works in MCE2005 ?

Only based on what I am reading, users are having issues with color calibration and there is something odd going on with the audio. Something about bad normalization that you can't turn off. I am waiting for some experienced users here to try it out before I go for it. MCE users tend to be the most illiterate HTPC users out there .

with only one coaxial input, how will this work with Satellite Dish's--doesn't each box need to output the signal seperately?

It won't. It will split the incoming RF cable for analog users. If you want to use it with two cable boxes you will need to try and find an optional part for it that has additional SVideo inputs.

I have not. My order at Buy.com is still in "Sent to warehouse" status and the PVR 500 is on backorder

For now could just used analog tuner output from the 2nd Cable/Satellite box which very eazy to do all you need do is setup one up on analog tuner output channel 3 and use the other with S/Video or you could just eazy setup one box on channel 3 and other box on channel 4 that if your receiver has switch for channel 3 or 4 on back of the receiver.
I'm doing my best to talk Hauppauge in to building PCI slot A/V back panal as well as the 3 1/2 Bay Front A/V Panel which give us better option but it would have been nice if they had build the card in rigth way in first place.
As far I can tell the 500MCE work very good but dose have a few small bug
1: Line input where the Audio - It not normalises where the loud sounds are brought down and quiets sounds are brought up for me the tuner seem fine which I also under stand that 150 user also have same problem as well.
2: Video clip are tab bit darker then the 250 with both at there stock setting.

I don't know if they get this fix by end of this year so I'm not going count it
But the over all the PQ still look very good.
I'm also hope they add some reg overrides in future drivers set which help better fine tune the card.

Need less to say Hauppauge is selling the card faster then they can build them so you just have hang in there if still on backorder.
