Well that is unfortunate
I guess I have to fall back to my original comment in this thread:
Quote:
Cayars, I remain impressed by what you've done, and I may at somepoint end up using your STV, but in the 70+ posts in your STV thread, there are repeated mentions of various bugs. Since you are in constant development with this thing (like re-architecting it to offload processing to another machine -- good idea by the way), it is hard to know what version is stable and/or relatively bug free. This is why I have been hesitant. This is one of the reasons I wish I had studio. Anyway, I am done whipping this long dead horse. Too much TV, too little time. |

I just caught up on several weeks of this thread...
My issue with the release of studio isn't really studio itself. My take on the whole thing is that I believe Frey should concentrate on the PVR aspect and make that solid. There are too many features that can be done before branching off on some other tangents that really aren't as necessary when your development team is as small as it is. Irregardless my issue is the lack of trust now. This seems to be the point that gets me and that a lot of people miss. You promise something you need to stand by it. That goes for personal or business issues. Once I saw that announcement I lost a lot of respect for Frey and so did a lot of other users. Those things stand in the minds of people more so than a lot of people understand. This will stand out for years to come, and Frey will overcome this loss, however now this stands in the back of everyone's mind when it comes to future dealings with Frey. That and the lack of feedback or communication has really gone downhill. That seems like over the past year, these have all been changes for the worst, but maybe I missed some things. I'll be honest...I have been using GBPVR this past month. Its not as stable as Sage, and the OSD is slow, and I'm having issues using my Firefly with it...but I have a damned hard time switching back to Sage. I really like and respect Sub. I think he has done a great job and has put out some things I would desperately love to see in Sage. After an announcement like that about Sage then just posting about buying stuff on the site and check out the booth at E3...I'm pretty dissapointed in what I see. I wonder if anyone else understands what I'm trying to say. I have a feeling that maybe I'm a bit picky on what I expect to a lot of people here... |

The discussions since my last post are what I was implying that there are still some issues with them and it seems the developers understand this. The opinions of whether or not SAGE was to include STUDIO in ver. 2.0 are disregarded, AFAIC, because it was in the list if included items that was posted as being included. If it's on the package that items are included..then it should be.
I am going to take a break for the holidays, everyone be safe and have a happy christmas and merry new year.. CHEERS ![]()
