New PVR-250 from Sage store, help?

I just got a PVR-250 from the Sage store and I am having some issues. First question: is this card different from the retail one?

Second question: I am getting the following error with the card in Sage:

"There was a Directshow Filters Error in playback. Details: Unable to connect the MPEG2 pin of the capture filter to the dump filter ErrCode=0x80040207"

Any idea what that means? As an aside, one day I will get an error code that has a "click here to translate into plain English" button and I will fall out of my chair. No video is playing and no sound either. Just the above error. My original tuner card was working fine after installing the PVR-250 but I did remove it in "setup wizard" so I could see the new PVR-250 and get it working. After getting the error, I installed the original tuner in "setup wizard" to check and it was working fine.

Thanks!

install the newest drivers for both cards from hauppauge.com/support or goto ftp://www.shspvr.com

and install a non trial DVD program or stand alone decoder

you can use the ones that came with the card and get the newest version from hauppauge or shs again
or another free one is dscaler 5
you can get it at there forum

paid ones are nvidia decoder, sonic decoders and winDVD and powerdVD

Thanks for your reply! I have powerDVD installed (bought it) and use that as the default decoder. It's working fine with my original prolink tuner. Is that what that error means? Something is wrong with the PVR-250 and my mpeg decoder?

I have only gotten the error from unregistered decoders
not sure what the issue is
but have you tried getting the latest update for powerDVD
