SageTV Server 2.1 Issue (Archive Shows)
Not sure if anyone has come accross this in the upgrade to Sage 2.1, but I've found that I can not included all my other recorded shows / music / pictures without Sage taking up 100% cpu and becoming unstable.
The following is a guide to the setup: Sage Server: Athlon 1Ghz 1.5GB Ram 400GB Scratch drive (Direct record) PVR350 Sage Recorder: PVR350 Storage Area accesable via DFS: \\domain.name\data\multimedia 600GB Archive Area - Library section. Any help would be gratefully received. |

try install SageTV 2.1 clean by moving the Frey folder
then go in and replace the wiz bin and wiz bak after running SageTV once and edit the new properties file to match the old one if you have added/uesd any STVs install these fresh I would not transfer these properties from file to file after all of it reboot and se how it goes |

There are several options to see what this is: add only subsets of your archive to sage at a time until you find the subset with the 100% problem, repeating until you find the file or use process explorer from www.sysinternals.com to see which files Sage has open -- it is possible that it is stuck on a single media file, and procexp will show this as an open file... Or use filemon also from sysinternals and then add the medial lib and watch sage iterating through your media files until it stops and goes to 100% Once you have found it, log a fault report with sage so that they can try to avoid this problem in the future... |

Cheers for the quick response guys,
kny3twalker every upgrade is clean, to test the set up. I then add the WIZ files and just the bits I need from the propities file. As for STVs, never on the server it's a box that is not used as a client, just a server. Nielm, great idea, I've already got procexp so that's no problem, should have thought of that one, I'll have to wait to the weekend though. I'm not sure what I'm going to find as the system goes to 100% instantly, and all the files worked (and still work) in the previous version 2.0.10. But it is worth a try. Cheers again. |

Are these mpg files that you recorded(moved to archive) with Sage OR are they imported files? If they are imported library files, are any of them nonstandard(for SageTV) file extentions? Basically any type of file whose extention, you have to add to the nondefault sage.properties file to get SageTV to import them. ie OGM,MKV would be examples for video files.
