Black Screen

To preface this, there are alot of "black screen" problem posts, but I've searched this forum and Google and haven't been able to find one that I think fits this situation:

I can launch Sage, the OSD displays on the TV, I can navigate around, schedule recordings, edit options, select shows to record, record the shows, etc..., but when I select "Live TV" and/or "Watch Now" on a recorded show the OSD displays as normal but the screen remains blank with no sound. I can see the OSD if I pause, FF, RW, etc and I can see the time and status bar keeping up, but the screen remains black.

To debug this, I've tried/tested the following:
-Clean installs of every version of Sage from 2.0 to the latest 2.2 beta.
-WinTV works perfectly (record, pause live, playback to TV, etc...)
-DVD works perfectly (WinDVD)
-Tried every possible combination of Sage video options (Overlay, VMR, Default, all installed decoders)
-Played back Sage recordings with several mpeg players
-This is a dedicated machine, no unrelated software of any kind
-Read thru the "properties" file line by line looking for anything out of the ordinary or any of the common "properties" bugs or misconfigurations
-Since Sage is recording and the recordings can be played out to the TV with other players, I'm assuming encoding is working fine

I've, literally, exhausted my list of possible test configurations. Any other suggestions as to a potential problem or other configs to try out?
