why would it need to restart the video?? As it is I have a sat box controlled via serial cable, no tunning should be done on the card itself, should stay a solid video stream .... I really would like to see the ATI 550 working with sage, are they any known work-arounds?

now I've changed channels and let it set to see what exact time it took, as of 10 mins not tuned in yet ... When it did it before (3 times) it took around 5 mins, didn'nt get to time it, cuz I really didn't know what it was. I was reading through these forums and all of the sudden I heard the TV switched back to the sage program and it had finally tuned in ... oh well, I'll keep a close eye and see what happens.

Sage works together with the satellite box, every different show is a new mpeg. The only work around is to stop the video, then change channel.

I'm guessing that we might be waiting for support in Sage 3.0... don't know when that is though.

Ahhh i see, but this is the only reason I would use software like sageTV or beyondTV, to record shows (series) when Im not around.. I use the sat box for tuning when I actually watch TV.

But thanks for your replies, much appreciated..

I have owned this card for a month and I already feel very frustrated that I can't even use the darn thing. I can only imagine how frustrated the owners are who purchased the card back in November/December 2004. Right now I feel like I wasted $95. I tried out the trial version of BeyondTV. And while I can tune channels, I could not figure out how to change bitrate and resolution, or audio compression. Is this even possible in BeyondTV??

So now that ATI has confirmed that they have no plans to support the 550pro chipset with MMC, the SageTV program is the only hope I have. In the meantime, I have to go purchase another TV card to start backing up my VHS tapes.

Hey nice, that works. Now I could change channels with the 550pro without stopping the video first. thanks.

This fix mostly worked for me. The only problem is that I can't change to the channel to sub 3-digit channels. For me, this is only the locals, which I watch in HD anyway.

Anyone care to guess why that would happen?

with the locals being less that 3 digits, its sounds like DirecTV. And they have a firmware problem with serial cables being able to change to the 2-digit channels on the D10 boxes. it has been talked about here, and at tivocommunity.com.

Well ... It's been about a year. Has the channel changing issue with SageTV and the 550 Pro cards been resolved? I'd still really like to use Sage instead of BTV, but....

It's working pretty much just like any other card with Sagetv now using the latest version.

Angry bugs with ati tv wonder elite-remote edition

Hi !

i've just bought this supposingly awesome tv card..
''the famous ATI TV WONDER ELITE REMOTE EDITION''

tell me people, how in the world do you make this card work properly..

i used to have an ati wonder VE,,hey works fine and easy to configure quality type mpeg in variety of compression plus easy scheduling..

but this card is giving me a rash to configure...hey..how do you actually make the tv guide work on the remote..

ok lets make it short:

THE REMOTE--

POWER BUTTON:doesnt work in power cinema, BUT outside cinema can close program..weird

ok whats next..oh ya tv guide doesn,t work ,FM button doesn't work, TV2 doesN't work, clock thingy button also , the i button also and the weird icon under the 7 button doesn't work.

THE SOFTWARE-POWER CINEMA

Tv tuner software works fine..a little bit slow changing the channel compared to the VE edition

auxilliary input(the purple dongle)

ok ok..easy to connect,,,but..where's the image, but theres sound
either way changing from composite or s-video by clicking or changing cables, still no video....blasted!!

ok ok..the video recording is awesome..but wheres the mpegs parameters setting window or anything to customize your recording method like in the VE edition.

HELLPPPPPPP please helllppp

Can't fix it..well i fix it with an ......AXE..mouhahahaha!!!

I'm curious... you haven't mentioned anything about trying it with SageTV, which is the focus of this forum. Are you trying to use it with SageTV, or are you just looking for help using the ATI software?
