Why am I consistently unable to run the setup wizard?
I have been struggling for quite some time now, trying to install and configure Sage TV 2.1. I have even reformatted my hard disk and re-installed Windows XP. The problem occurs with the recognition of my set top box. My set top box is a PACE, and is not recognized by the Sage setup wizard process. However, there is an option to manually add one and upon adding "PACE", I immediately encounter this message -
"You may now release the OK button on the remote control. Press enter to continue." There are two problems with this - 1) This message is premature, I was never instructed to hold the OK button on the remote in the first place (although I did see a dialog flash briefly, giving the impression that the enter key was misinterpreted as the OK button on the remote). 2) Pressing enter to continue does nothing, instead Sage locks up totally. (I'm assuming this means press enter on the keyboard ) I also tried escape, back arrow, space etc. I even tried pressing various buttons on the remote, but at this stage Sage TV is totally unresponsive. Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this? I have tried using later drivers for the PVR -250, but unfortunately it seems the Roslyn/Blackbird bundle that I am using requires the original drivers that came with the Sage TV "Blackbird" bundle CD. |

What IR blaster are you using & is it set up according to the instructions on how to use it with SageTV? (Appendix F in the manual.)

I'm using the ACTiSYS IR-200L.
Appendix F advises not to install the drivers that came with the IR-200L and instead use the drivers that come with the Sage CD I'm sure this is what I did because I re-formatted my hard disk recently and could only find the original Sage CD. I'm not sure that I even have an install disc for ACTiSYS. I have tried several more times, but the same problem persists. Is it possible that I have a bad ACTiSYS device? Would I be better off buying a USB-UIRT or a new ACTiSYS? I have spent quite a long time on this problem so far, and if purchasing a different IR blaster solves the problem, then it is worth spending some more money. |

I'm not certain what to suggest for the Actisys -- unless someone who uses it has an idea, I would contect support to see what they suggest about it. There is a note in the manual (p. 114 for v2.1) regarding a crash when setting up the Actisys, but it sounds like perhaps you aren't even at that point.
