I posted info in the Cayars STV thread, but I guess I had better repeat it here... see these posts here & here. In short: between trying to recover from the lightning strike & time at work, he hasn't had time to be around here lately. I've removed the donation link for the time being.

Red face Cannot (apparently) demux?

just downloaded and installed v17 and really like the interface! I've been using SageTV for about a year now, and I couldn't live without it. Well, maybe I could, but I don't want to. I'm quickly starting to feel that way about the Cayers interface. It's very cool.

In response to the previous post: You click on a show you've recorded and add it to a "playlist". From there, when you go to burn a DVD, it'll give you a list of the playlists you've built. Select one, and then go. Uh huh. Riiiiight.

I've had VideoRedo for quite a while now and so when I go to burn a DVD, and then select a playlist (with only 2 1hour shows on it!) it starts the process. First, it uses VideoReDo and saves it to 2 .mpv files. Then, once it exits VRD for the 2nd time, it goes right back to the menu without burning anything.

Looking at the debug log, it looks like it finishes with VRD, copies the menu to the working directory (NO it doesn't have any spaces!) and then tries the .... aw heck, I'll just post the debug file...

I just installed the The Ultimate STV today and it was some great features but cann't get DVDBurner to work.

I've also received an error message similar to what lamanmi & pciccone get.

Is this because of expired trial version or some other problem? Also noticed that there seems to be a problem with donations and getting a registration key. Has that been cleared up yet?

Talking

Some things I learned:

1) Follow the instructions. It said to turn off background Comskip, so I did.
2) I made sure compression was turned off.... it said that, too (the .pdf doc)
3) When you click on the program you want to add to the burn list, you have to scroll down to see the 'add to dvd list' option.

I am now demuxing. I guess VRD is next, and then -- well, we'll see.

Later,

I doubt anyone can help me but I'll give it a shot.

I am using hte latest DVD Burner that's available and all of a sudden, I can't get it to use VideoRedo as the demuxer. Doesn't matter what I select in the external setup options, its always using MPGTX. any ideas?

I am having a problem with DVD Burner.

How do I register it? Is there a Menu editing program?

Had several problems getting started. NOW it looks like it's working.

Unfortunately Cayars, the user who wrote this DVD burner plugin, is no longer around, and there isn't any one that knows enough about the error messages to troubleshoot things. So as a result, this is kind of dead in the water.

Sorry about this. There might be a replacement on the way...

LOL, that didn't even occur to me, but you're right, that _was_ mean.

I still can't tell you though. Sorry.

So how do I get the registration key now? This was the best feature of Cayer's STV and that's why I switched. Does anyone have the registration key for cayer's DVDBurner?

Is there anyway to use some other program as a replacement? I have somany programs e.g. Nero, TMPGEnc DVD autor, you name it!!

Hey guys,

I just registered so I could provide some feedback on using Cayar's DVD Burner software with SageTV 2.2.8.

I finally got it to work. I had to change the mux/demux setting in the settings setup section to MPGTX instead of videoredo. I was getting the same error as one of the posts above. It appears that when the DVD burning process tries to execute the VB script for videoredo, something isn't working correctly, and it's giving that error. I haven't looked into the VB script myself, but it appears one of the object names isn't lining up with what Cayar's is trying to call.

Anyways, I got my setup to burn DVDs by changing the setting mentioned above. Oh and also, my guess is that the return values mean whether an error was present or not. A '0' return value means the process was completed correctly, and a '1' means there was an error in processing.

I should also mention I've been using the forum for a while and really appreciate all the work the community has done for SageTV.

DVDBurner always works for me and I use VideoRedo. The problem I have tho is that it isn't registered so it can only burn 2 shows to DVD (limitation of the non-registered version). That may be the source of your errors...

flea001 How did you get your registration?
