IR Codes for Hauppauge original remote??

Can anybody post or PM me the correct

ui/rc_mappings

from their sageclient.properties file for the original Hauppage remote so that I can use the USBUIRT and the remote correctly? I've manually programmed it, but just can't get it mapped exactly the way it would be if I had a PVR-2/350 on my local playback machine.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless someone has a file to send... You would have to learn each button twice in a row w/o pressing another remote button in between (the codes toggle each time the utton is pressed) & then simply do this for each command you want the buttons linked to.

Or, is the problem that you don't know exactly which commands are used? Edit: The zip files I uploaded for the new 45-button remote includes an Excel file showing the specific commands used. See post 3 of Hauppauge link 1 in my sig lines.

I've tried but there are many buttons I don't know which is supposed to go where.. it seemed to me that it would be easy to have somebody just post the the ui/rc_mappings/xxxxx lines from their sageclient.properties file that correctly links each of the sage commands to the original Hauppage remote. My system is functional now, but it sure would be nice to have every button mapped as it would be if I wasn't using the USBUIRT. What I would love to see Frey do is make a submenu that maps the buttons for you if you choose 'usbuirt' in the setup... maybe even supply the mappings for several of the most common remotes.

Anyhow, I'll check out your excel file, but I'm not sure it maps right for my original remote. If anybody has USBUIRT and the original remote with all the correct mappings and can paste those lines on a reply here, that would be VERY helpful to me, and to others I'd bet!

Thanks for your help!!!!

PS.. I'm not opposed to doing it another way, with girder for example and the SendMessage method, if that works with my sageclient setup (I have no IR other than the USBUIRT) since I have no Hauppage cards in this system... the server is the only machine that has those hardware devices.. I use the X-Card to decode on my client.

I should have noted that the Excel file lists the layouts of both the old & new Hauppauge remotes.

Maybe my question has no answer.. does every remote generate the same code? If not, then I imagine there is no easy way to just copy and paste somebody elses training into my properties file..

Thanks again!

They _should_ be the same for the same remotes. I believe someone else asked for those properties file lines too, but I don't remember if anything got uploaded in response. Edit: ... which is why I gave info on teaching the buttons to SageTV yourself: in case no one uploads such properties lines.

I think I'm having some of the same issues that were featured here. I've had the old Hauppauge silver remote and a JP1'd OFA 8810 working forever on my standalone server/client unit just fine, running in service mode.

I just bought an MVP and inherited a new 45 button silver remote. I've configured the MVP to work well enough, but no function with remote controls. The two silver remotes have comletely different RC5 codes and that's annoying. I have that under control and will synchronize RC5 codes from the PVR2/OFA in the long term so they can be used interchangeably.

My problem is that my MVP doesn't accept commands from ANY remote once I erased all ui/rc_mappings/* entries, and even then accepted wrong ones. Is there a manual on this configuration? Is there a complete list of all ui/rc_mappings/* keys available? What are those 1000+ numbers in the config file, since they don't seem to match up to your excel numbers, RC5 numbers, or anything else.

I can only seem to control the MVP SageTVClient through the PVR250 IR port when the program has focus, using the irremote.ini locally. What does the MVP use for translation of the received IR?

This is the section from Matt's MVP SageTV client configuration, which I don't understand:
ui/rc_mappings/back=1032,
ui/rc_mappings/ch_down2=1019,
ui/rc_mappings/ch_up2=1018,
ui/rc_mappings/dont_like=1036,
ui/rc_mappings/ff=1015,
ui/rc_mappings/guide=1035,
ui/rc_mappings/home=1030,
ui/rc_mappings/info=1040,

The MVP doesn't use any type of remote ini file - those properties are needed to map the IR codes the MVP receives/translates to the commands you see those codes assigned to. If you remove them, your remote won't work when used with the MVP. You will need to either restore the lines or go to your MVP & teach each remote button to whatever command you want that button to be associated with in Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Link.

Those are simply the codes the MVP or the plugin translates each remote button to. It automatically handles the toggle bit, so each button has 1 code.

These codes are completely different from the ones you would see if using the same Hauppauge remote with a USB-UIRT, BTW. But, those same properties would be used with any IR receiver SageTV supports directly.

Yeah, figured as much. Was hoping someone else was thorough about this so I didn't have to do the work. Worse, wish it were configurable. Oh well. Here's my work product. Hope you can use it in the manual somewhere.

Exactly. So might as well get it published so others can use it, especially me so I don't have to ever redo this again.

Thanks for the help, hun! Wish it were better news, but I'd have probably done this exercise anyway were it not complete. Off to the MVP thread to post other issues / comments.

ToonGal, nice work on remote codes. Having some questions. For my intrigue, where do you find the numbers related to the keys; ie, how do you know 1025=play?

What else needs to be done here to get all keys to work on 45 button remote? I copied the ui/rc.. mappings to sageclient.properties, but not all the keys seems to be recognized, or do what they should (according to . Do I also have to go into Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Link, or is that what we do already by adding these to the properties file?

I also use JP1, and if you have a good KM file for this setup that would be great as well, but I imagine i have to get over my initial questions first. Thanks
