I was wondering if anybody knew of a way to add tvtome (or any similar source) and IMDB (for movies) data to my EPG? I am using Cayar's STV and I know there is an IMDB lookup but, what I am looking for, is a way to "flesh out" my epg. Right now, its a bit of a pain because Sage keeps recording the same show like 5 times every week. For alot of the shows I have restricted it to record by time slot. However, there are a bunch of shows that are broadcast on more than one channel and, obviously, in multiple time slots. Of course, without proper show descriptions, Sage also records shows I have already watched when thery are repeated later. Not to mention, it would be nice to have actor/keyword/category recording working and to have proper descriptions would also be nice
.
For alot of my data, there is either no description or a generic description. In some cases, the channel's website does provide individual show titles (hence my EPG has the individual show title) and I know what season I am in which could be used to look up the information.
In other cases, I only have a show title in my EPG. For alot of my broadcast shows, its all US/UK shows which are a season+ delayed. So, as its all a season+ delayed broacasts, the shows are run sequentially. So, for example, if 'The Apprentice' began today 1/16 then (it would be, say, season 2) it would air season 2 episode 1 and in 7 days it would be episode 2, in 14 it would be episode 3, etc. Its like clockwork as there is no holiday breaks or actor strikes or whatever to delay the next episode from being aired. So a lookup should, hopefully, not be difficult.
Though I know its not the same at all, in Meedio there's a plugin that does TVtome lookups for my downloaded TV shows. It uses the XML data from the filename which has to be named with show-season-episode# (or show title). This data is either already in my EPG or I can manually input upon a new show season being started (for the shows with no individul show title data). Does anyone know of any app like that for XMLTV?
Thanks!
Edit: I am too long-winded
