Using Sage to capture VHS recordings.

Has anyone used sage to capture home videos? I was thinking it may be nice to have my VHS deck output into the PVR250 card, and have sage to a manual recording to get the advantage of the hardware mpeg2 compression.

Is it as straightforward as that? Will it record the audio also?

Hoping someone has already done this,

thanks

I've done that before and can verify that it works. Captures both audio and video just fine.

I have done it as well. The way I got it to work was to check the channel output from the VCR (3 or 4) and set up a manual recording for channel 3 in Sage after switching the input to the PVR250 from cable to the VCR.

LOL.

When I did this, I recorded the file using the Hauppauge WinTV application.
This was before sage had the timed recording option.
