Using Sage to capture VHS recordings.
Has anyone used sage to capture home videos? I was thinking it may be nice to have my VHS deck output into the PVR250 card, and have sage to a manual recording to get the advantage of the hardware mpeg2 compression.
Is it as straightforward as that? Will it record the audio also? Hoping someone has already done this, thanks |

I've done that before and can verify that it works. Captures both audio and video just fine.

I have done it as well. The way I got it to work was to check the channel output from the VCR (3 or 4) and set up a manual recording for channel 3 in Sage after switching the input to the PVR250 from cable to the VCR.
LOL.

When I did this, I recorded the file using the Hauppauge WinTV application.
This was before sage had the timed recording option. |
