how to specify where to store shows
how can i do this, i looked in the manual and didn't see it

sage decides to automatically record on my C: drive which has 5GB free, but my D: E: and F: drives have at least 20GB free each

i also don't want it recording to my C: drive at all

In the Setup menu in the Detailed Steup under General.
Video Directories specifies which Drive(s) to use and also you can setup a rule as to how much of the drive to use.
