Which version of Java and where to get it?
I have had several crashes due to my java install. So unistalled it and want to reinstall it. A quick forum search said that most people just upgraded to JRE 1.4.2.06, but when I go to java.com I get a download for 1.5.0.01. I installed that version, the Sage spash screen comes up, initializes everything, but then disappears. I looked in the FAQ and it has links to the J2EE 1.4 SDK not the JRE.
This looks like something so basic, I must be mising something very simple. Brian Last edited by brianblank; 01-26-2005 at 07:57 PM. |

Slight progress...
I dug out my Sage CD and was able to load 1.4.2_04 and have Sage up and running. Not sure how stable it will be though.
Where do I get the _06 update? Thanks, Brian |

I've been using Java 1.5. It is quite a leap from 1.4.2.

Thanks everyone. I ran 1.4.2_04 for 24 hrs with no issues. However, I just re-installed the "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1" from the main java.com site and everything appears to be running fine. We will see.
Not sure why I had the issues last night, but all seems to be back to normal. No just if I could get my second Sage client up and running...off to play with DX9. Brian |

VER. 1.4.2_07 (build b05)
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1 crashed a few times so I installed VER. 1.4.2_07 (build b05) and have been running for a few days with no issues.
