Motorola DCT2224

Hi everyone, New to this , I have a Motorola 2223/1662(GI4307NE)
when I plug it in the read out said hunt. I called comcast
and asked them to activate it but they said they could
not. I am going to order Digital from them and wanted to
have a extra receiver. I would like to know what I need to do
to test or get this thing up.
Thanks
cowboy

if they can't activate it then you are out of luck... maybe the box is not compatible with Comcast.

Hi, They told me that they would not activate it because Comcast never
sold these units. It is a comcast box from northern Illinois.
Thanks cowboy

Yeah, it's not necessarily that they can't but won't. They want to charge you a monthly cable box fee FOREVER.

Similar but not quite as bad as their cable modem policy. Cable Internet used to be $10 month less if you had your own versus used their supplied modem. People stardard buying their own so Comcast reduced it to $5 less... But whaddayagonnado, go back to dialup?

I can definitely understand why the cable co wouldn't want a unknown box on their network, no telling what mods have been done to it. We use those DCT boxes here in Hickory, but I'd really love to replace the once I have with ones that have Svid output on them (these boxes have the spot for it, but nothing there ).
