1900X1080P Vs 1776X1000i

I recently tried to fix the problem of overscan on my HD Hitachi, by messing around with the service menus, and adjusting my Radeon 9800 with Powerstrip to use 1776X1000i, cause not all apps are good about overscan adjustments, *cough* MCE *cough. Anyways, the resolution adjustment made my screen almost perfect, except for one issue. No matter what I am playing back video in, Sage, or MCE, the video seems to have that microstudder to it. The second I switch back to 1900X1080, it is fine in both apps. I was thinking it might be a 30hz thing on the refresh rate at interlaced resolutions, but don't know for sure. Has anybody else run across this, and if so, do you know how I can fix this?

I'm running 30hz interlaced on my Toshiba. I see a flicker at the windows desktop but I don't see any stuttering problems in Sage or playing any video.

I have a Radeon 9700 using the DVI/component adapter with the Catalyst 4.12 drivers. Started out at 1776x1000 but dropped down to 1712x984 to completely eliminate overscan.

I am going straight DVI out, so maybe that is my problem.

Update:
Well, I solved the studdering issue.
I bought the $30.00 ATI DVI to Compent adapter.
Before I bought the adapter, I had DVI going striaght into my Hitachi.
My Radeon had every resolution but 1776X1000 in the list of possible resolutions.
This is why I installed Powerstrip. I was reading about 1776X1000 and wanted to try it out. That's when the microstuddering started. If I switched back to 1920X1080 and out of one of the modes Powerstrip set, the studdering went away.
In comes my box from NewEgg, and I throw it on my machine and plug up component cables. Then I open up the listed resolutions, and low and behold, 1776X1000 is now a supported resolution. I kick it on and no more studders!!!!
Just to be sure, I uninstall Powerstrip, and reboot. The resolution is still there, and smooth playback.
I am pretty sure this had to do with a 30hz interlace setting vs a 60hz progressive setting, cause the 1776X1000 that powerstrip set was 30hz, and interlaced. Once the dongle was installed, 60hz Progressive was availible, and that is what I selected.

I hope this sheds some light for some people who are getting these microstudders and are using powerstrip or an interlaced resolution.

It's still 30Hz interlaced, your TV doesn't support 1080p (60Hz), sounds like you had your refresh rate off a little with powerstrip.

Anyway, glad to hear you have it working.

Yes, my tv does support 1080P as input, it just displays it in 1080i.
I think the ATI Dongle put's out 1080i no matter what, but the point is the computer isn't trying to coordinate the frames with the refresh rate. At least that is the only explaination I can imagine in my case.
