You have more or less just described the OSD mini-guide, which I think someone asked about here.

Yep ... I think that was originally done by MlbDude ... I love it ... but it wasn't a plugin, it was part of his STV about a year ago ...

Dynamic Menu Plugin--- font issue

Will this be an easy/quick fix.. or should we stay away from that particular plugin at this point?

Thanks!

updated dynamic menu

Update dynamic menu: 4/8/2005 v 3.2
  • Fixed bug where the bottom of menu item text was being cut off
  • Added: Filebrowser for selecting an application to execute, and ability to specify that Sage sleeps while the app is running.
  • Added ability to dynamically move menu items around (up/down/copy/paste)
  • Added ability to dynamically rename menu items
  • Bypassed internal Setup/Schedule/Library/Search menus, so you should never see them -- you have to modify your menu.xml to specify these menus yourself -- the default menu.xml has been updated to do this...

Yup, still have some cutting off of the bottom of the letters. It even appeared in an unaltered menu, the "g"s lost their tails in the setup menu.

Hmmm.... I don't have the problem. The fonts chage sizes perfectly on my system with the new version.

Did you restore the old SageTV3.stv file and then re-import? Maybe it's getting confused by two different versions living inside?

Yup, that was it. importing over itself messed it up. I restored to an original SageTV3.stv and then reimported, all worky now.

Note the title in the above referenced post still says July 26, 2004. Thanks for the awesome work Neilm. I'm doing a clean install right now.

I was wondering if it would be possible to include a WRS default config for Canada?

neil,

Noticed a small item on Malore's plug-in..... When you go to Malore's SageTV recordings, the left arrow (mouse button) doesn't show up. If you CTL-LEFT ARROW, it returns when going back to the main menu.

This may have been mentioned before, but I'd like to see the SageTV folks figure out a way to make this whole import process better. We should be able to import a new version of these wonderful items from nielm without having to reimport everything each time a new version of one of them comes out.

And I would like to see it made easier fot the developer too... Creating imports is a real pain! However, it is the only plugin architecture we have...

We shall just have to wait and see...

I could create an import which imports the other imports that it finds in the STV's directory...
