Simultaneous multiple recordings to same external drive-Event Viewer errors sometimes

Every once in a while when I record 3 shows at one time (Two 19.2mbps HDTV shows + 12Mbps Analog recording) to my external firewire hard drive I get these errors listed in my event viewer (See picture attachment)

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation

Event Source: sbp2port Event ID: 9 The device, , did not respond within the timeout period

Is this common when sending too much data to an external firewire drive?

My best guess is sometimes I flood my drive with too much data. Any ideas?

You are most likely correct. Please remember that even if the Firewire interface works perfectly, and accepts 400Mb/s without a hitch, that data still needs to be written to the drive. Since you are writing 3 different high bandwidth streams to 3 different files, not to mention any file system/OS overhead, chances are your are overloading the drive. This is especially true if you are also reading one or more of them back (watching what you are recording).
