Audio Compression Error

Well I am trying to get analog cable to work on my FusionHDTV 5 in Sage, but when I go to "Watch TV", I get the following Capture Error. Everything works fine with BTV 4.

Thanks

Still not working with 4.1 I have the Fusionhdtv 3.20 drivers and everything works great with the Fusion app.

Do you need any special decoders?

System Specs:
AMD XP 3200+
1Gig PC3200
Abit NF-7S w/Nvidia Soundstorm
ATI 9700
Raid 0 - 2X Maxtor 160GB
3Com GigE
FusionHDTV 5 Gold

Thanks

Same here

I'm running into a similar problem. Upgraded to 4.1.3 and dropped in a Fusion 5 Lite card. Works like a champ in the Fusion App, but can't get it to tune in Sage. When I try to view HD through 'Additional Airings' menu, it gives me the following error message:

"Capture error in playback. Details: Error (-7, 0x0). There was a problem setting up software audio compression."

Then another message pops up: "No Signal"

I've been using Sonic Video and Audio decoders successfully before I installed the Fusion card. Not sure what I'm missing here.

One thing that I found interesting is that when I initially setup the Fusion card in Sage, it showed 2 separate video sources. One was FusionHDTV WDM, Video Capture. The other was FusionHDTV Transport Stream Capture. Couldn't setup the Transport Stream source as it would not tune in preview. The WDM source is configured. Could this be part of the problem?

Problem Solved...Still Tweaking

Well it turned out to be the second source device that needed to be configured. For whatever reason, when I tried to tune the Transport Stream Capture source last night it could not tune a channel. I tried again this morning and wha-la! So now it's a matter of rotating the roof antenna to pick up the stations I want. NBC, CBS and ABC all come in nicely with 80% or better reception without having to rotate the antenna. In order to get FOX I'll have to do a 180 with the antenna and hope for the best (furthest tower from my house).

My new problem is that I'm having video lags when I time-shift through the Fusion card, whether it's an HD or non-HD broadcast. I'll pause for 20 seconds or so and when I unpause the video almost looks like it is fastforwarding a second or two, afterwhich I lose sync between audio and video. Any thoughts on this one?

What decoders are you using? I'm running Nvidia and/or Sonic (depending on my mood). The fact that the Fusion App is working tells me it might be decoder related in Sage.

The default SageTV decoder. Is there a special decoder that I should download?

Thanks

I'm not too familiar with trying to run an analog signal out of an HD card. I have a Fusion Lite 5, but use it solely for HD programing. I'm running dual PVR-250's to handle the analog stuff. However, there's a lot of posts out there about decoders. The default decoders "work", but there are far better ones out there. I personally like Sonic Cineplayer for analog broadcasts. Nvidia decoders (at least the older versions) seem to handle HD better than Sonic.

Decoders may be part of your problem here, but I would recommend upgrading to a better decoder to improve picture quality.

Did a fresh format and still the same error with the analog tuner. The tuner works fine with BTV.

How were you able to get both video sources? I'm only showing the FusionHDTV WDM Tuner in mine (FusionHDTV 5 Lite), but no Transport Stream Capture?

I'm using SageTV 4.1.6.75. I installed all the DVICO software (version 3.3), and have no luck getting the TS option.

Any ideas?

During my setup the WDM Tuner and Transport Stream Capture (TSC) were both there. For whatever reason, I had problems configuring the TSC. After stepping away in complete frustration and coming back to it, I was able to get the TSC setup. Not that I did anything different, but hey it worked.

Not sure why only your WDM Tuner is being displayed. Have you checked to see if you can pull HD using the DVICO app?

Yep, I can receive a 1080i station inside of the DVICO application. Just recorded a minute of it, and it took up 139MB.
