MVP Extender Reboots on Video Access
I'm installing a MVP Extender. Everything worked ok, until I tried to play a video. The Sage menu comes up, but after I select a recording there is a delay, then the MVP reboots on the sage initialization screen. Here are the steps I went through for the upgrade, and a couple items I have checked based on other posts.
- upgraded the Sage Server and a Sage Client to 4.1.3. Both worked well after the upgrade. - enabled the Media Extender Server, and toggled the SageTV Server. - connected the Media MVP to TV, plugged into network, and powered up the unit. It booted fine to the SageTV menu. Program guide is accessible. - rebooted the Sage server PC. Anyway, still no video play capability. Is there something I missed in the set up, or other suggestions? -thanks. |

It appears to me that you might be having the same symptoms as this thread: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14782
If so you might try the fix listed in post #35 http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...5&postcount=35 BobP. |

My MVPs behaved a lot better when I loaded up the beta 4.1.4 versus 4.1.3 ... FWIW. But yeah, follow Bob's links...there is something just not quite right yet with the MVPs and there are a number of other threads tracking this down. I have been "on the hunt" now for the last three weeks in getting mine to work right. I have gotten them to work, but have to reboot the server every day or so once the MVPs start to stutter, not load, etc.
You might try the MVP.bin beta as well. |

BobP, that was the exact problem and fix. I disabled the "offload checksum" property in the network controller, and the MVP worked. I did not even need to reboot the network server. I'm using on board LAN with the Nvidia nforce3 chipset as discussed in the other thread on an MSI MB. I've not loaded 4.1.4 yet, but I will see how this current set up works for a few days. Thanks for helping me track down the fix. -Craig. |
