MVP Sluggish playback

Just received my MVP from SageTV, and I've connected it to my SageTV 5.0 server. I'm getting horrible stuttering. That is, it'll play for a half a second, then give me a 2-3 second pause, repeat forever...

I have two SageTV client licenses for two PCs in my house that connect to my SageTV server. The problem happens even if I have *NO* SageTV clients connected to the server (and when SageTV client is connected to the server, sound/video is perfect).

Any idea what to look for, here? It's on the same network, connected to the same switch that my other computers are connected through.

This problem was a weird one -

I'm connecting my MVP directly to a 16 port Netgear gigabit ethernet switch. If I connected it to a different switch, there was no problem. So I stuck a 100 megabit switch between the MVP and the gigabit switch, and everything is perfectly smooth now. Sounds like the MVP has some autonegotiation issues with the Netgear.

You could always try forcing the port on your Netgear to 100-half or whatever works best for the MVP. Sometimes devices have issues if both ports are auto. Sometimes it only takes setting one of the ports to help fix the issue.
